Ketel Marte exits D-backs game vs. Giants early

SAN FRANCISCO -- Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte left Wednesday’s game against the San Francisco Giants with an apparent injury.

Marte, who was 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, ran out to his position to start the bottom of the seventh before team trainers were summoned onto the field. In the top half of the first, though, he had fouled a ball off the instep of his right foot.

After a brief meeting, Marte and the trainer walked off the field. Ildemaro Vargas replaced Marte at second base.
