WASHINGTON, D.C., (WITN) - Eastern Carolina Congressmen, Republican Greg Murphy and Democrat Don Davis are applauding the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act and what it will mean for eastern Carolina.

Murphy says the legislation provides $90 million for an operations facility at Camp Lejeune. $200 million for the F-35 Aircraft Sustainment Center at FRC East, ensuring our Marine F-35s will be maintained for the next 50 years. Authorizes the awarding of the Medal of Honor to Major James Capers, Jr., USMC (Ret.) by the President of the United States. This is for numerous acts of valor while serving as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
