Charley Pride left behind an incredible legacy — consisting of numerous No. 1 hits and millions of record sales — after his death.

Now, the country music legend’s legacy will be further solidified when an album that has sat on the shelf for roughly 40 years will be posthumously released later this month.

Pride’s forthcoming album “Endlessly: A Tribute to Brook Benton” will drop on what would have been Benton’s 94th birthday on Friday, Sept. 19. The album, which features “a delightful set of R&B productions,” was originally recorded in Dallas, Texas in the mid-1980s while Pride was in-between recording deals, an online press release states.

The recordings were rediscovered at Pride’s CECCA Productions office in Dallas and mixed and mastered by late audio engineer/producer Bob Picke
