LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The construction behind the new Cigarroa Middle School has taken time and looks to be in the final stretch.
The LISD school board met on September 2 to discuss multiple projects and safety projects within the district.
It has been almost five years since the talks of the middle school made it on the board. In 2021, groundbreaking on the property began, which took a while due to boundary lines between the two school districts.
The new Cigarroa Middle School is located at 3618 Ejido Road. in the Lomas Del Sur subdivision. The new 250,000 square feet campus which sits on 23 acres of property will feature a three-story academic building with two wings each for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade classes.
The campus will also have a boys and girls gymnasium with restrooms
