GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — Just ahead of the cul-de-sac on Wildridge Drive NE, a group of neighborhood children gather around an elaborate wooden box in the shape of an Olde English cabin, searching for treasure. It's something that brings joy to the heart of Devin Schindler, as well as his daughter and son-in-law, Kayla and Grant Mallires.

"Yeah, I'm gonna sound like an old man, but in my day, you spend all your time running around the neighborhood on bikes and things like that. Well, this gives kids an opportunity to do that," Devin said.

The cabin is home to what this group calls "The Trinket Trade."

"We saw the little libraries, and we had this idea to do it with toys, because there's a ton of kids in the neighborhood. We thought it would be really fun," Kayla said.
