SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) - A heartfelt memorial was set up during the first three days of the Clay County Fair in honor of 16-year-old Kolten Hofmeyer, one of three teenagers who tragically died from injuries sustained in a house fire in Granville.

Fair officials say Hofmeyer, a native of Alton, Iowa, loved attending the Clay County Fair, making it a fitting place for the tribute.

They say he especially loved indulging in all of the delicious fair food, and spending time with friends.

His father and stepmother organized the memorial to celebrate his memory in a place that brought him so much joy.
