MCKENZIE BRIDGE, Ore. - The Foley Ridge Fire, sparked by lightning on Saturday, continues to grow, now covering 245 acres.

According to the Nevada Type 3 Incident Management Team 4, Daniel Gallagher has taken command of the situation as incident commander. Firefighters are actively working to contain the blaze located seven miles east of McKenzie Bridge. Crews are focusing efforts on building containment lines to prevent the fire from spreading to private land and keeping it south of Oregon Highway 242. Heavy equipment and hand crews are collaborating to protect the White Branch Youth Camp. Smoke from the fire is impacting air quality in nearby areas.
