But one Scarborough couple did the complete opposite, and instead decided to build a small, sustainable home to raise their young family in.

The climate-conscious couple’s brief to MDC Architects was simple: design a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home “no larger than absolutely necessary.”

The result is a beautiful, energy-efficient, custom-designed residence that is proof affordability, style and sustainability can go hand in hand.
