Network President Calls Political Analyst’s Remarks “Inappropriate, Insensitive and Unacceptable”
The president of MSNBC has apologized for remarks made by political analyst Matthew Dowd during the network’s coverage of the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The shooting occurred during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
According to officials, Kirk was shot, and a person of interest is in custody. Video footage from the campus courtyard shows Kirk clutching his neck as the audience disperses and security rushes him from the scene.
An eyewitness described hearing “just one shot, bang,” and seeing “red gushing blood” from Kirk’s neck.
