DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) — Hundreds of third graders are learning about something they depend on every day but might never see in person: farm life.

“You can read about it in textbooks and see it in videos, but until you see it in person, you might not understand what all goes into it,” said Michelle Zindel, a third grade teacher at Harrison Elementary.

The free two-day Ag in the Classroom event will welcome over 940 third-grade students and their teachers from 15 Davenport elementary schools at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds.

The event is hosted by the Scott County Farm Bureau and volunteers.
