PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Evergreen Public Schools announced there will be no classes on Thursday as pressure is continuing to mount in the ongoing support staff strike.
Even still, the school district said they're hopeful they can reach a tentative agreement with the PSE Large Group union workers as the strike has delayed the start of school for over two weeks.
"We understand that our community is frustrated and we share your desire to get our students back to school. The EPS and PSE Large Group bargaining teams participated in mediation again today but additional time is still needed to continue negotiations with the hope of reaching a tentative agreement," Evergreen Public Schools said in a press release.
