PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Don’t fret. A Southeast Portland bar that shuttered last month is in the midst of a resurgence.
Although customers believed Slow Bar closed permanently with its farewell celebration on Aug. 9, the beloved watering hole is expected to reopen in the coming months. Katie Burt, who worked at the establishment for four years, told KOIN 6 she recently purchased the space alongside her partner David Wilson — who also has hospitality experience under his belt.
While Burt said the reopening is dependent on approval from the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission, it is currently slated for mid-October. Customers can expect most of the hallmarks that defined the business in its 21 years, in addition to some minor upgrades.
“We are keeping Slow Bar,” Burt wrote in an email.
