CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Local farms are opening their gates this weekend for the annual Farm Crawl, hosted by the Neighborhood Co-op. The two-day event encourages the community to explore sustainable agriculture, meet farmers, and learn where their food comes from.

The farm crawl serves as a fundraiser for Food Works, a nonprofit focused on building a more secure regional food system by training new farmers and ensuring access to food. Jennifer Paulson, the executive director of Food Works says people will be able to take tours, taste products, and the chance to see firsthand what sustainable agriculture looks like.
