CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne has apparently settled on a design for a new jail in Garfield Heights and now is finalizing some of the details that will impact the overall cost and efficiency of the building.
At the request of Ronayne’s administration Monday, the County’s Board of Control approved a $19,000 contract with Practical Solutions for Public Safety to conduct an operational staffing analysis for the planned facility. It will show how many corrections officers are needed to adequately cover the housing units while also providing inmates with access to recreation, visitation and other programming.
The county received early staffing estimates back in 2022 from DLR Group, a consultant that explored options for downsizing the scope of a new jail project, N
