PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) - September 10th is National Suicide Prevention Day. The entire month of September is dedicated to Suicide Prevention as a whole as well.

There are a variety of resources for those seeking help. These include the 9-8-8 number for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Online and over-the-phone therapy are also rising in popularity for convenience.

Southern Highlands Community Mental Health Center is at the forefront of combatting the stigma around mental health conditions.

"Having support systems really helps. There's a big focus on peer recovery right now for mental health services. Just continuing to educate the public on the options available and what works best for that individual. We're going to keep reducing the stigma around mental health by doing that," said Canda
