PETOSKEY — The City Council is being asked to take action at its next meeting, September 15, on a resolution to streamline the city’s ability to comply with the state’s Clean and Renewable Energy and Energy Waste Reduction Acts.

The measures are aimed at implementing and Energy Optimization Plan (EOP) that would decrease energy use in order to reduce the requirement of more energy and delay the need for additional electricity production.

The City Council will look at entering into what’s called the Retail Energy Improvement Program Project Participation Agreement developed by the Michigan Public Power Agency (MPPA), of which City of Petoskey is a member.
