The Wilson Dam, a cornerstone of the Tennessee Valley Authority's (TVA) energy network, is set to celebrate its 100th anniversary on Friday. TVA hosted a media day to showcase the dam's enduring role in powering homes and supporting families.

The Wilson Dam can provide electricity to around 380,000 homes and businesses, TVA leaders said. It stands as the largest hydroelectric facility within TVA, utilizing 21 units to produce significant power.

"Hydropower at TVA is one of our most flexible sources of fuel," said James Everett, general manager of river management at TVA. "We get our fuel from mother nature when we get rainfall."
