MONROE, La. (KNOE) - We have reached the peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. This peak happens on September 10th, according to historical tropical and hurricane activity in the Atlantic.
As of now, there are no storms in the Atlantic, which is abnormal.
Still, storms are likely now, but will become less likely heading into October and November.
So far this season, there have been 6 named storms, with 5 of them becoming tropical storms and one becoming a hurricane, Hurricane Erin, a powerful Category 5 storms.
