BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) - On Tuesday the Bluefield Board of Directors voted to apply for the Rural Rural and Tribal Assistance Pilot Program.
The vote was unanimous, passing 5-0. The amount they applied for was $2.5 million.
These funds will hopefully be going towards a new facility for the Bluefield Rescue Squad, Bluefield Fire department and Bluefield Police Department. Bland street is being eyed to be the grounds of the new facility if funding is approved.
Currently the fire department and police department are connected to city hall. EMS services are further in town.
