CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A school resource officer in Clarksville is on paid administrative leave after allegations that he pushed his religion on students.

Some students and parents are protesting the leave, however legal experts say the school was left with no choice.

On Tuesday night, the school released new details, saying Campbell was “with players and other students, quoting scripture, holding a Bible up to spectators, and leading prayers” during last Friday’s football game. They also say he carried a Bible throughout the school day and spoke to students about it. He was seen as acting “extreme,” “defiant,” and “unreasonable.”

Still, many students we talked with earlier this week insist he did nothing wrong.
