NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Among American conservatives, Charlie Kirk stands out.

“I think he was a luminary, I would say, of his time,” said Rep. John Rose. “He wanted to inspire particularly young people, but I think people of all ages, to engage in the public square, in the debate. He wanted ideas to be at the core of those discussions and not just empty rhetoric.”

Rose says it’s because Kirk stood firm in his beliefs, but also always allowed others to challenge them.

Kirk was the founder of Turning Point USA, an organization dedicated to promoting conservative values among young people. With the organization, he hosted events on college campuses across the nation, inviting people to debate him on political topics.
