NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- New York City Council voted Wednesday night to override three mayoral vetoes.

This means the stiffer criminal penalties for street vendors put in place by a June bill will be repealed.

These vendors will still be subject to violations, civil summonses and fines.

Council members also overrode Mayor Eric Adams' vetoes of two bills that impact delivery workers.

One provides them with pay raises, and another gives them workplace protections, like establishing e-bike safety requirements.

"Mayor Adams' vetoes were another example of him prioritizing Trump's agenda above our city by disregarding the work of his own administration on these bills and harming working-class New Yorkers," said City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams.
