INWOOD, Manhattan (WABC) -- A water main break in Upper Manhattan left several blocks underwater.
Residents were waking up on Thursday to find their streets completely underwater in the Inwood section.
The water main break happened just after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Dyckman Street and Nagle Avenue.
Water could be seen rushing down the street under parked cars and affecting the roads in the surrounding areas.
Crews were working into the early morning hours to shut the water off and make repairs.
The city's Department of Environmental Protection responded to the scene.
Crews will then have to open up the street to find the break and repair it.
Emergency workers were also checking basements for damage.
There are street closures around Academy Street, Nagle Avenue, and Post Avenue.
