Derbies will again dominate an A-League men’s season that also includes the return of Boxing Day football.

Despite the financially embattled Western United being booted from the new season, the competition’s 12 remaining clubs will still play 26 regular season games in the 2025-26 campaign.

Teams will play each other at least twice, and will play against four sides three times.

And as expected, derbies and long-standing rivalries are among the match-ups that will take place on three occasions.

They include Sydney FC-Western Sydney Wanderers games on November 29 (CommBank Stadium), January 31 (Allianz Stadium), and April 11 (CommBank Stadium), and Melbourne City-Melbourne contests, which also double as grand final rematches, on November 8, December 20 and February 21 (all AAMI Park).
