GREENSBORO, N.C. — It's mid-September. In weather, that's typically when the tropics are extremely active. Historically, September 10th is the peak of hurricane season. That means if you look back through all the years this is the time you would expect the most activity.

2025 isn't playing by those rules. This year, we've been in a bit of a lull. The Atlantic has been "storm-free" since Fernand dissipated on August 28th about two weeks ago. So, what's going on?
