MAINE, USA — The CEO of Modivcare, the company providing non-emergency medical transportation to about half the state, visited Maine just weeks after filing for bankruptcy in August.

"It made sense to get here and get ahead of the issues that are out there, but also make sure that I'm talking transparently to all parties," CEO Heath Sampson said in a one-on-one interview with NEWS CENTER Maine.

The company is still under contract with the state after signing a 10-year, $750 million contract with the Department of Health and Human Services to expand its services under MaineCare statewide.
