COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio (WKBN) - Lisa Vittorio has always had a heart for kids.
She started her nonprofit organization, Brightside Project, to help underserved children in Columbiana County and parts of Mahoning County.
"I'm motivated to do this work because... I have two teenagers, but I also have a degree in education, so I know what our kids are up against right now. I know that society has changed so much just in the past decade," Vittorio said. "And so there are great needs, there are complicated needs that these kids have, you know, physically, emotionally, mentally. And so if we can just step up and support them a little bit, then that's what keeps us going. That's what motivates us."
Vittorio founded the Brightside Project in 2016, and now, a decade later, the work continues to
