University of Alabama students gathered Wednesday night to remember conservative activist Charlie Kirk following his assassination in Utah , emphasizing the need for open dialogue and unity amid political division.
Riley McArdle, chairman of the College Republican Federation of Alabama, expressed his disbelief, saying, "To be gunned down in front of a crowd in broad daylight just for sharing his political opinions is just unthinkable and shocking."
"My phone was blowing up, it reminded me a lot of when Trump got shot... it’s like you don’t want to believe that first," said student Russ Boackle. "I had to put my phone down... I wanted to throw up... it was so personal in a way... just somebody that I looked up to so much."
McArdle highlighted the broader issue, sayi
