PELHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - All lanes of I-65 are back open after a vehicle fire has caused heavy traffic and backups in Pelham.
Pelham Police say cleanup has been completed after an 18-wheeler caught fire on I-65 south at Exit 246.
According to officials, the fire possibly started with the brakes or tires from the 18-wheeler that was hauling food products.
At the time of the crash, police say all lanes of the interstate were closed, but as of 4:50 p.m., one lane had reopened.
Along with first responders, police say Pelham Public Works also responded to the scene to help clear the interstate.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
