The National Weather Service issued a report at 10:56 p.m. on Wednesday for strong thunderstorms until 11:30 p.m. for Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon and Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon.
The storms are packing pea-sized hail (0.25 inches) and wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
"At 10:56 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Garrett to 9 miles south of Dixie. Movement was southwest at 30 mph," states the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage and heavy rain is possible."
Locations impacted by the alert include Walla Walla, College Place, Milton-Freewater, Dixie, Umapine, Garrett and Kooskooskie.
