COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The City of Colorado Springs is already preparing for the upcoming snow season with its annual “Snow School” training.
The three-day event gives snowplow operators hands-on practice before the first storm of the year. Crews run their assigned routes, test heavy machinery, and sharpen safety procedures to ensure they’re ready when winter weather hits. City leaders say that with more than 6,400 lane miles to cover, preparation is critical.
“This training marks the beginning of our preparation for the upcoming winter season,” said Clint Brown, Street Operations Manager for Public Works. “With more than 6,400 lane miles in our city, our snowplow plan prioritizes how we plow our streets.”
