A five-storey apartment complex is being proposed along the coast in Jindalee, less than 200 metres from the beach.

The apartments would be built on a vacant 2716sqm lot in the Jindalee Coastal Village precinct on the corner of Maritime Drive and Jindalee Boulevard.

The development would deliver 43 apartments in a building capped at 16.1 metres in height, featuring eight unit types ranging from one-bedroom to three-bedroom layouts, along with 78 car parking bays.

The proposal also includes plans for a cafe on the ground floor, with space for alfresco dining. Around 13.8 per cent of the total site will be dedicated to landscaping.

Jindalee is a rapidly growing coastal suburb about 40km north of Perth that was only formally established in 2003.

Its population grew from just 145 resident
