GREELEY — A $40,000 state grant will pay for a market study that’s meant to help support the growth of semiconductor and advanced industries in Weld County.
The market study is planned to be a step toward making Greeley a CHIPS Zone supported by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, said Cassidy Stubblefield, director of industry partnerships and special projects at Upstate Colorado Economic Development, which is partnering with the state office. The economic development zones, created by the state Legislature in 2023, offer tax incentives for employees, research and development and various investments.
“We want to make sure we are well positioned for this,” Stubblefield said.
