As she planned the 2025-26 season for The Ringling’s Art of Performance series, Elizabeth Doud was preparing for a lot of different eventualities.

She has booked a number of small shows or solo performances, in part, because it wasn’t clear during the scheduling process what the future of The Ringling would be as the state legislature considered a proposal to shift control from Florida State University to New College of Florida .
