Special meeting set

FOLLANSBEE — Follansbee Council will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the City Building to discuss the firehouse project.

Volunteers sought for park board

FOLLANBEE — City residents are sought for a new park advisory board, a volunteer panel that will provide input to city officials about its parks, recreation and green spaces while authority over spending and policies will remain with Follansbee Council and the city manager.

Council seeks to fill the board with a representative of each ward, each appointed by the ward’s council member. Those appointed will serve two-year terms.

Letters of interest should be submitted by 3:30 p.m. Oct. 3 to P.O. Box 606, Follansbee, WV 26037 or e-mailed to citymanager@follansbeewv.gov.
