The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong warning to Malawians to be cautious of fraudulent overseas job offers that often lead to forced labour, human trafficking, and other forms of exploitation.
In a statement released on its official Facebook page, the Ministry noted a growing number of Malawians—particularly unsuspecting citizens—who have fallen victim to fake recruitment agencies promising high-paying jobs abroad. Many of these victims end up trapped in exploitative conditions, including forced labour and trafficking.
