South Ayrshire Council’s Regulatory Panel (Planning) has deferred their decision over a proposed housing development in Prestwick until a site visit has taken place. ‌

The proposals relate to an area of vacant land in the town’s Annfield Road where the site has been earmarked for five new homes. ‌

The agents in the proposals are Ayr-based LMA Architects and the applicant is Prestwick firm Harkiss Homes Ltd. ‌

Council papers showed that the panel was being recommended to approve the scheme - despite more than 40 objections.

However, at today’s meeting of the panel (Thursday, September 11) a motion was unanimously backed to continue the application until a future site visit and for the panel to receive ‘clarification’ over drainage at the site.
