PLANO, Texas — Plano East Senior High School canceled classes Thursday due to a power outage, officials said.
The Plano East campus is the only school affected by the outage, officials said. Wednesday, the campus experienced an electrical outage caused by damaged underground lines, the district said in a notice to parents.
Full power to the building has not been restored despite overnight efforts by Oncor Electric, Excel Electric, Able Electric and district facilities personnel. Officials need more time to restore full power to the building, according to the notice.
All on-campus student activities are canceled, but off-site athletic events will continue as planned, the district said.
