MIDDLEBURY — A new exhibit by Mary Jane Ives titled “A Display in Versatility and Coloration” is now on display through October 16 at the Art Gallery at Shutter Speed Photo located at 564 Middlebury Rd. in Middlebury.

Ms. Ives, a self-taught artist from an early age, grew up in Naugatuck, went to Salem School, Naugatuck High, Post University and then worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for 37 years; all these years painting and refining her art.

Oil painting is her favorite medium, and her subject matter includes Seascapes, Landscapes and a variety of Still Life subjects. Through the years, Ms. Ives displayed her paintings in many galleries, libraries and various venues. She participated in the Oxford Arts and Crafts Fair for 48 years, and has won many ribbons and awards throughout the state.
