PENNSAUKEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- Ceremonies will take place across the country on Thursday to mark the 24th anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks.

Once again this year, volunteers joined first responders to place American flags across the lawn at the 9/11 Memorial in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

"We're able to come here as a community, gather as a community, unite in remembrance, and really honor those who lost their lives in the 9/11 terror attack, and pay tribute to survivors and all our brave and dedicated first responders," said Pennsauken Mayor Nicole Roberts.

In Philadelphia, a processional from the Fireman's Museum will lead to the Betsy Ross House for a ceremony.
