LINN COUNTY, Iowa — A black Chevy Silverado crashed on Wednesday around 6:35 p.m. in the 4300 block of Boy Scouts Road, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office. Deputies say the vehicle left the road, hit a powerline pole, rolled, and ended up in a field. Witnesses said the driver left the scene on foot before emergency crews arrived. Investigators say they believe the driver was alone in the vehicle. Despite a search by deputies, the driver was not found. Alliant Energy responded to repair the powerline pole, restoring power to the area a few hours after the accident happened. The crash is still under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
