UPDATE: Cedar Rapids Police say they have arrested Kaleek Lewis, 23 of Cedar Rapids, for the Wednesday shooting in the 100 block of 27 th Street NE.

Lewis was booked on the following charges and transported to the Linn County Correctional Center:

-Murder 1 st Degree

-Attempted Murder

-Going Armed with Intent

-Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime

Police say the shooting victim, Dedric Arnold, 23, died as the result of his injuries.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - An investigation is continuing into a Wednesday afternoon shooting in the 100 block of 27th Street NE.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department says officers were sent to the scene at around 4:20 pm and, while en route, learned a victim was being taken by private vehicle to a local hospital
