There is a lot Liberty fans are expecting from their team in the next few weeks as the playoffs tip off.

It starts with the obvious — mounting a credible bid for back-to-back WNBA titles by finding some semblance of the team that started the season before injuries and lackadaisical play sent them spiraling downward.

There was a time when the Liberty were without a doubt the best team in New York, giving the city some hope after the Knicks were eliminated in the Eastern Conference finals. They took off running, earning a franchise-best 9-0 start to a season.

They were the team to watch. They were the team to beat.
