While Sept. 11, 2001 is a day many Americans will never forget, adolescents who weren’t alive may be learning about it for the first time. Grade-school teachers face the task of teaching students about how al-Qaeda terrorists planned multiple suicide attacks on America on the fated day, killing 2,976 people.
Pleasant Valley High School teacher Michael Vought was 34 years old when 9/11 happened. He “vividly” remembers watching the news on a 20-inch television with his class at PV.
“It was very confusing,” said Vought. “It was very emotional.”
The only comparable even
