FARGO — The committee charged with recommending a site for a new $41 million convention center and the Fargo City Commission have difficult jobs, but not really.
Nine potential sites have been presented from eight bidders and while there are a few that make sense, there is one that makes the most sense.
That would be the Fargodome site.
Yes, this is putting the cart far ahead of the horse since the 13-member Convention Center Committee has yet to pare the nine proposals to a list of potentially three finalists, but that will not be difficult.
Locations that should be eliminated: Downtown, the Savers site, the Noridian site, the Delta hotel site, the crossroads of I-29 and I-94 site and the far south Fargo site. All have obvious shortcomings, even with the benefits of increased proper
