JENNINGS — A 15-year-old boy was shot and critically injured Wednesday evening at a McDonald's in Jennings, police said.
The boy was shot around 6 p.m. at the McDonald's at 8983 Jennings Station Road. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
He was not an employee of the restaurant, said St. Louis County police spokeswoman Vera Clay.
The teen is the latest child to be shot in the St. Louis region. So far this year, at least 45 children have been shot in the metro area. Twenty of them have died.
