A heavily used portion of East Mason Street near East Town Mall will undergo a "long-term closure" for road reconstruction beginning Sept. 15, the Green Bay Department of Public Works announced in a news release .

The 16,400 daily commuters who travel on the affected section of East Mason Street between Jaster and Main streets will have to find alternate routes while the city rebuilds the road as part of its five-year capital improvement plan .
