It has been a while since Bison football fans have seen Owen Johnson carry the ball for the green and gold.
One year and ten months to be exact.
During that time, the senior running back faced the unlikely odds of a gruesome knee injury head-on, just to get back on the field.
For over a year, the Bison running back was tethered to the sideline after what appeared to be a routine play against UND in 2023.
"It was my first run of the day so I was hyped. Just going to the outside and something felt weird. Some popping, and I just thought maybe a little tweak," said Johnson. "I got up and took that first step and I was like yeah it's probably not right and obviously wasn't the best."
