ALLEN PARK — The Chicago Bears are working to establish a high-level offense under first-year coach Ben Johnson.

While their roster already featured plenty of weapons on offense, rookie tight end Colston Loveland might be one of the most intriguing after being selected 10th overall out of Michigan.

Loveland’s usage in a debut loss to the Minnesota Vikings was a bit limited as he saw 38 snaps and caught both of his targets for 12 yards, while veteran Cole Kmet played 60 snaps and had four targets — though only caught one.

Now headed to Ford Field for Week 2 against the Detroit Lions, the threat of Loveland in the receiving game isn’t any lessened after one performance.
