We're already in Week 5 of high school football in Northern Nevada, and the non-conference standings look a little different so far, with many schools playing California squads.
There's one more week of non-conference games, although Nevada schools are playing each other, then league play begins Sept. 26.
In the Class 3A-North, Fallon has been dominating, allowing just six points and putting up thee shutouts in going 4-0.
Elko has also been solid with a 3-0 start. Elko plays at Fallon on Oct. 17, which could decide the league title.
In the 2A-North, defending state champion Pershing County is 3-0, as are Incline and Sierra Lutheran, which did not have football team last season.
